Leobener Graben
A tour through the small valley of Leobener Graben: We meet at Leoben. In only three hours you hike and walk though very robust and earthy natural valleys of the National park Nockmountains. At about half distance you can refresh and relax at the lodge Steiger Hütte with a traditional Carinthian „Jause“ and have a look at the forests’ house which was built approx. 100 years ago.

Gmünd - "Rothenburg" in Carinthia
A trip to Gmünd - das "Rothenburg von Kärnten". The medieval small town in the Tauern area is a real jewel, its surrounding nature impresses with lush meadows and stunning woods covering mountains. The town itself is surrounded by walls, has four town gates and a tower – you can see it on every corner that Gmünd doesn’t want to deny its Roman background.

Lodge Sennerhütte
Visit of a lodge, which used to be the home of farmers and herds(wo)men during summer. This lodge is right next to the panoramic road of the Nockmountains. In spring and in the fall visitors might have the rare chance of actually seeing the shy marmots. The old herdswoman gladly and joyfully welcomes every visitor – and offers pure, fresh milk taken directly from the cows at the meadows, homemade butter, Sennerkäse (typical cheese) and smoked meat. In the evening, enjoying the candle light atmosphere and drinking some glasses of "Hausbrand" (a traditional type of Schnapps – what else would you need for making this day unforgettable.

Wellness at the Bauernbad (farmers’ bath)
Karlbad is another culturally historic relevant jewel in the Nock Mountains and offers even today a bath in the so called “Holzzubern“, which has a tradition of more than 300 years. The healing effect is due to the content of minerals in the water of the stream Karlsbach.

Origins of the history of mining
Walking to the origins of mining: Thomatal-Bundschuh is a historic jewel for everybody interested in mining. A furnace from 1962 with all their traditional parts is very impressive for the visitors’ eyes. There is also the chance to get more information at the local museum. A must for everybody interested in mining.
